Privacy Policy
Updated August 19, 2026
This policy describes how Moonshot League ("we", "us") handles personal information on moonshotleague.com.
The short version: we collect little, we sell none of it, and we run no advertising trackers.
01What we collect
You give us some information directly:
- Signup information: your email address, which list you joined, and an optional note, which may include links to work you have made.
- Application information: if you apply, your name, your email address, which program you are applying to, a link to something you have made, and your answers to the questions on the form.
- Account information: if you create an account, your name, your email address, and a password. We store the password only in hashed form.
- Correspondence: whatever you include when you email us.
A small amount is collected automatically:
- Server logs: standard request logs, including your IP address, browser type, and the pages you requested.
- Session data: if you sign in to an account, a session cookie plus the session's IP address and browser type.
02What we do not collect
The public site sets no cookies. We run no third-party analytics, advertising pixels, or session-replay tools. We do not buy data about you from anyone.
03How we use information
- To send you what you asked for, such as program updates and event dates.
- To read your note and respond to your messages.
- To read your application, decide on it, and contact you about it.
- To understand who is interested in the League as we form programs.
- To operate, secure, and debug the site.
- To comply with law.
04When we share information
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for advertising. We share it only as follows:
- Infrastructure: the site and its database run on Google Cloud in the United States, so information you submit is stored there.
- Email: our email is delivered by Postmark, which processes your email address in order to deliver it.
- Fonts: pages load their typefaces from Google Fonts, so your browser sends Google a standard web request, including your IP address. Google Fonts sets no cookies.
- Legal reasons: we may disclose information when the law requires it, or to protect our rights, our users, or the public.
- Business transfers: if Moonshot League is part of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, information may transfer with it and remains covered by this policy.
05How long we keep it
We keep signup information while the mailing lists operate, so we can send you what you asked for. If you unsubscribe or ask to be removed, we delete your information from the list. We keep an application while we are considering it, and afterwards so that we can recognize you if you apply again. Account information is kept while the account exists. Server logs rotate on our infrastructure provider's standard schedule.
06Your choices and rights
You can leave a mailing list at any time, by the unsubscribe instructions in any email or by contacting us. You can ask what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it.
Depending on where you live, some of these choices are also legal rights. We honor the requests for everyone, wherever you live, and we do not discriminate against you for making them.
07Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, including encryption in transit and hashed password storage. No internet service is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
08Children
The site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
09Visitors from outside the United States
We operate from the United States, and information is processed and stored there. Using the site from elsewhere sends your information to the United States.
10Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. When we do, we change the date at the top of this page, and we announce material changes on the site or by email.
11Contact
Requests and questions about your information can go to our email or our mailing address.
