The step before the incubator
Moonshot League is a pre-incubator in San Francisco. It is for people who want to start a company and have not started one.
We are not an incubator, and we do not replace the programs that write the checks. We work with you until applying to one of them is the obvious next thing to do.
Why it exists
Someone moves to San Francisco to start a company. A year later they are still meaning to. Not for a dramatic reason. They never met a cofounder. The idea stayed a document. The job was fine.
Every program starts after the team, the product, the proof. Nothing starts before. The League is the before.
We do not coach or write applications. We cannot forward one, arrange an introduction, or influence anyone else's decision. We will not suggest otherwise. The substance is the part we can build with you, and it is the part that gets read.
What counts here
What counts is work you have already done, not an account of what you plan to do.
Training Camp asks for one thing you have made and finished. A side project, a class project, a repo, an event you ran, something you wrote. Any size counts, and polish does not. The gate is light and Camp is free, so getting in is not an acceptance.
Inside Camp the same thing counts. You say what you will ship that week, and your group and your mentor hold you to it.
The Summit Team is the selective half, and it is entered by an interview. You do not have to come through Training Camp to sit one. An interview is a judgment call, not a checklist.
What we take
Tuition, and nothing else. Moonshot League takes no equity, no warrants and no income share. Your cap table after the League is the one you walked in with.
Training Camp is free, and money never gates it. The Summit Team costs $5,000, which pays the mentors.
Where we are now
The first Training Camp group is forming. No class has finished, so there is no track record here and nothing to report yet.
That is why there are no results on this site. When there is a rate to publish, it will count everyone admitted to the Summit Team, not only the people who finish.
You do not need a company yet
Training Camp is free and runs year round. Bring one thing you have made and finished.
